Tanzania. This morning I awoke at 3:30am to be driven to a very remote Maasai Boma (home) of a young girl so that I could accompany her and a classmate who lives even farther away to their school and see what a child actually goes through to get to school. At least 6.5 km each way. They have no breakfast. Torn school uniform. No books. No water. But they look forward to going to school five days a week. Families are dirt poor with many children and few cattle and goats to herd. Getting an education is essential.
